Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Emilio Bonifacio extended his career-best hitting streak to 19 games Wednesday night. The Marlins third baseman singled to left field off San Diego Padres right- hander Aaron Harang to open the bottom of the fifth inning. The Marlins trailed 13-1 at the time. Bonifacio is still a long way from setting the Marlins record for longest hitting streak. That was set by Luis Castillo, a 35-game run during the 2002 season.

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres recalled infielder Logan Forsythe from Triple-A Tucson and have optioned catcher Luis Martinez to the same minor league team. The 24-year-old Forsythe is up for his third stint with the Padres. In 22 games this season, he's hitting .167 with eight hits in 48 at-bats in his rookie campaign.
